# Share links with words instead of URLs

Have you ever needed to share a web address over the phone, during a presentation, or with a large audience? Long URLs are difficult to remember and easy to mistype.

**[Tomatu.link](https://esmi.es/go/rlfMp5zj)** lets you replace any long URL with a short keyword or phrase that's easy to say and remember.

Just open the website, paste your URL, and create a short, memorable keyword or phrase, for example **travel2026**, **conference**, or **myproject**.

Instead of reading out a long web address, you simply say:

> "Go to tomatu.link and enter 'conference'."

Anyone who enters that phrase will instantly get your link.

Tomatu.link is useful for:

- phone conversations;
- presentations and conferences;
- classrooms and workshops;
- podcasts and live streams;
- meetings and public events;
- any situation where sharing a long URL is inconvenient.

When creating a link, you can choose between two modes:

- **Secret mode** — the keyword must match exactly.
- **Open mode** — the link can also be found using part of the keyword or even if there are small typing mistakes.

Links can remain available for **1 hour** or **24 hours** before being deleted automatically.

Registered users can extend the lifetime of their links whenever needed.
